SUMMARY: An account of several decades of Kent milling history from the standpoint of those who worked in the trade. L. G. Gray describes his connection to the Hudson family and the Hudsons' connections with other Kent milling families. The book contains reproductions of correspondence, old sale particulars, portraits of individuals and maps showing the locations of many of the mills mentioned.

SUMMARY: An illustrated history of the firm of Holman Bros, millwrights and agricultural engineers of Canterbury. John Holman was responsible for building many fine windmills in Kent, and the company was the last indigenous firm of millwrights to operate in Kent.

SUMMARY: A fascinating and absorbing study, very much ahead of its time, containing valuable historical research peppered with the recollections of old millers.
