The Mills Archive
The Mills Archive Trust (Registered Charity 1091534) was established
in March 2002. Our Mills Archive Online catalogue at www.millarchive.com
was developed with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund
and provides free access to documents and images, including
photographs, notes, correspondence, drawings etc. It allows
searches of various databases, including material from the
National Monuments Record and the University of Kent. We encourage
researchers to make use of our Internet catalogue and to consider
using our research services (a tariff is available on our
website) rather than visiting the archive itself.
These are early days for the archive so we are opening on
an experimental basis. Appointments to visit our library can
only be made in writing (please supply a SAE) or by email
and must offer several choices of dates and times at least
three weeks in advance. Although we have no fulltime or professional
staff, we will try to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.
We cannot always guarantee access, as our cataloguing must
take precedence. We also reserve the right to refuse access
and if necessary to introduce charges for the use of the archive.
